Studies have shown that when students eat a good breakfast in the morning, they do better in school. Some students have difficulty eating a good breakfast due to lack of time or hunger in the early morning. Please try your best to encourage your children to eat a healthy breakfast before school and to bring a healthy snack into school. These snacks should be power packed foods that can be eaten quickly. The following are some good snack food options:

      • apples
      • grapes (sliced in half for younger children)
      • bananas
      • carrot sticks
      • celery sticks
      • crackers
      • pretzels
      • cheese
      • raisins
      • dry cereal
      • animal crackers
      • 100 calorie snack packs
